In Ecuador, the Private Fundraising and Partnerships (PFP) section plays a critical role in generating income to support UNICEF’s country programme. Donor information management is centralized within the Business Intelligence (BI) Unit.

Job Purpose

The Database Management Associate (Business Intelligence) directly contributes to strengthening and expanding fundraising operations in Ecuador by ensuring the efficient and reliable management of data. The position guarantees timely access to high-quality information through the supervision of database management processes and technical support staff, ensuring consistency across the systems managed by the BI area. The role enhances strategic decision-making by providing accurate analysis, integrated reporting, and fundraising performance insights, enabling the identification of growth opportunities as well as potential risks. This position is key to ensuring the integrity of the data ecosystem, optimizing analytical processes, and strengthening the effectiveness of UNICEF Ecuador’s private sector fundraising strategies.

Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Fundraising Specialist (P3), the GS6 BI Associate will be responsible for steering the visual analytics strategy, data governance frameworks, and data reporting architecture. The main purpose of this position is to bridge the gap between technical data structures and financial goals, acting as a strategic partner to cross-functional PFP teams. The role will also supervise the BI team workflows. Key functions include Data Analytics, Visualization and Executive Reporting Leadership; Data Governance, Quality and Systems Administration; Financial Management, Reconciliation and KPI Monitoring; Cross-Functional Coordination and Strategic Business Support; and Team coordination, automation, continuous improvement and administrative responsibilities.

Work Experience

Minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience in business intelligence, data analytics, systems database management, market research, analysis, or related functions. Experience in collaborative, cross-cultural teams, financial processes, and agile methodologies is valued. Strong proficiency in Power BI (DAX, Power Query, data modeling) and functional knowledge of Salesforce are required.
