Job Purpose
The Driver Generic Job Profile, at the G-2 level, is to be used in a UNICEF country office and generally reports to the Operation Associate/ Administrative Associate and Programme Specialist. The Driver provides reliable and safe driving services, demonstrating the highest standards of professionalism, discretion, integrity, and sense of responsibility. This role ensures compliance with local driving rules and regulations while maintaining a client-oriented approach and courtesy. The Driver must be able to work effectively with people of different national and cultural backgrounds, demonstrating tact and a high sense of responsibility in all interactions.
Responsibilities
The Driver is responsible for providing reliable and safe driving services for UNICEF staff and officials, ensuring their timely and secure transportation. This includes adhering strictly to all local traffic laws and regulations. A key responsibility is the meticulous maintenance of the assigned vehicle, including regular checks of oil, water, tires, and other essential components, as well as performing basic troubleshooting and minor repairs to ensure the vehicle is always in optimal working condition. The Driver must maintain accurate documentation of all vehicle-related information, such as mileage logs, fuel consumption, maintenance records, and repair histories. This role also involves ensuring the cleanliness and readiness of the vehicle for use at all times. The Driver must demonstrate a high level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity, acting as a representative of UNICEF and upholding its values in all interactions.
Work Experience
At least 2 years of relevant work experience as a driver in an international organization, embassy, or UN system with a safe driving record.
