Job Purpose
As a focal point for administrative management services in a country or sub-country office, the Administrative Officer is accountable for delivering efficient and cost-effective administrative support services. This role involves providing guidance for the operations of administrative support services, managing administrative staff, and ensuring that all administrative operations and services comply with the organization's policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. The position plays a crucial role in supporting the fundamental mission of UNICEF to promote the rights of every child, everywhere, by ensuring that administrative functions are aligned with the equity strategy and contribute to the overall goals of child survival, development, and protection.
Responsibilities
The Administrative Officer serves as the focal point for administrative management services, ensuring efficient and cost-effective support. Key responsibilities include providing guidance for administrative operations and managing administrative staff. The role requires ensuring compliance with UNICEF's administrative policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. Specific functions encompass policy development and implementation, budget management, overseeing administrative support and services, property management, contract arrangement and control, and supporting staff learning and development. The officer will also be responsible for partnership, coordination, and collaboration with relevant stakeholders. This includes managing and monitoring the effective use of resources, contributing to the formulation of strategies and policies, and performing any other assigned duties. The role demands the ability to work in a multicultural environment, establish harmonious working relationships, and adapt to change while tolerating ambiguity.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of relevant work experience in a national or international setting is required. Additionally, at least two years of work experience specifically in office management and administration is necessary.
