Job Purpose

The Supply and Logistics Associate (G-6) will perform highly skilled work on UNICEF supply chains, managing complex cases and client requests. This role involves evaluating difficult situations and adapting procedures to resolve issues, providing input into the design and development of improved supply chain services and delivery mechanisms. The Associate will have a high degree of operational independence, leading end-to-end supply chain management. The impact of this role directly affects the quality and timeliness of specialized services delivered by the unit, ensuring service delivery results are achieved for clients. The Associate will manage specialized and complex supply chain processes, liaising with clients and suppliers to resolve issues related to purchase orders, contracts, delivery, and payments, ensuring adherence to policies and rules.

Responsibilities

Manage and oversee end-to-end supply chain processes, from procurement to delivery, ensuring efficiency and compliance with UNICEF regulations and procedures. Evaluate complex supply chain challenges and develop innovative solutions to resolve them, adapting processes as needed. Liaise effectively with internal clients and external suppliers to address issues concerning purchase orders, contracts, delivery schedules, and payment processes, ensuring timely resolution. Maintain strong relationships with clients and suppliers to ensure service standards and deadlines are met, and that all actions align with organizational policies. Provide input and recommendations for the improvement of supply chain services, systems, and delivery mechanisms. Collaborate with similar organizations for research, data gathering, and information sharing to enhance supply chain operations. Monitor supply chain performance metrics and report on key indicators, identifying areas for improvement. Ensure accurate and up-to-date record-keeping of all supply chain activities and transactions. Support the development and implementation of supply chain strategies and plans. Contribute to risk management within the supply chain, identifying potential risks and proposing mitigation strategies. Ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement and delivery of goods and services essential for UNICEF programmes. Assist in the preparation of supply chain-related reports and analyses.

Work Experience

A minimum of six years of relevant professional experience in supply chain management, logistics, procurement, or a related field is required. Experience in an international organization or humanitarian context is an asset.
