Job Purpose
The IT Telecommunication Assistant will support the delivery of Digital Impact and ICT services by providing essential technical assistance, administering ICT equipment and systems, resolving incidents, supporting users, and promoting the effective adoption of UNICEF digital solutions. This role is crucial for ensuring smooth ICT operations and enabling staff to effectively utilize digital tools. The assistant will troubleshoot and resolve ICT-related issues, support the deployment and maintenance of ICT equipment and applications, and contribute to efficient digital collaboration. Furthermore, the position involves strengthening staff capacity through user guidance and training, maintaining accurate ICT asset and inventory records, and supporting business continuity through reliable, secure, and customer-focused ICT service delivery, all within a 6-month temporary appointment.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive technical assistance to end users, troubleshooting and resolving a wide range of ICT-related issues including hardware, software, network connectivity, and telecommunications problems. Support the deployment, installation, configuration, and maintenance of ICT equipment and applications, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. Contribute to efficient digital collaboration by supporting audiovisual equipment and digital communication tools. Strengthen staff capacity by providing user guidance, conducting training sessions on UNICEF digital solutions, and offering on-the-job orientation. Maintain accurate ICT assets and inventory records, ensuring proper documentation and tracking of all equipment. Support business continuity by ensuring reliable, secure, and customer-focused ICT service delivery. Assist in the management of ICT procurement processes and equipment lifecycle management. Adhere to UNICEF’s ICT regulations, rules, and procedures, and promote the effective adoption of UNICEF digital solutions across the office. Ensure prompt and proactive response to service needs, demonstrating a high degree of integrity, reliability, and confidentiality.
Work Experience
A minimum of five (5) years of experience in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), telecommunications, network administration, or helpdesk support. Proven experience in end-user technical support, troubleshooting hardware/software/network issues, and supporting Microsoft 365 and Teams. Experience with ICT equipment maintenance, inventory management, and IT security principles is required.
