As the largest provider of vaccines for developing countries, UNICEF supports child health, nutrition, water and sanitation, basic education, and child protection. The organization is funded by voluntary contributions and employs over 12,000 staff globally.
Job Purpose
The purpose of this consultancy is to support UNICEF's commitment to the Immunization Agenda 2030 (IA2030) and Gavi 6.0 strategy by addressing inequities in immunization coverage and utilization. The consultant will provide technical assistance to countries to conduct Coverage and Equity Assessments (CEAs) and multideprivation analyses. The consultant will support the development and implementation of zero-dose reduction strategies, establish and/or strengthen zero-dose implementation monitoring systems, and ensure the systematic follow-up and routinization of catch-up activities within routine immunization programming. Specific tasks may involve providing technical assistance on CEAs to identify missed children and recommend strategies for reaching them, aligning with national programme planning cycles. The consultant will also contribute to the design and implementation of targeted interventions for underserved populations such as urban slums, ethnic minorities, pastoralist groups, migrants, and remote rural communities, and ensure the implementation of recommendations from equity and gender analyses.
