Job Purpose
The Administrative Officer (NO-2) is responsible for delivering efficient and cost-effective administrative support services in Caracas, Venezuela, following the recent earthquakes. This role involves guiding the operations of administrative support services, managing administrative staff, and ensuring compliance with UNICEF's administrative policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. The incumbent will play a crucial role in strengthening the organization's operational capacity to ensure a timely, effective, and child-centered humanitarian response, particularly in vulnerable and hard-to-reach communities affected by the emergency. This position is critical for maintaining essential administrative functions that support UNICEF's mission to protect children's rights and well-being during a significant humanitarian crisis.
Responsibilities
The Administrative Officer will be accountable for the delivery of efficient and cost-effective administrative support services, providing guidance for the operations of administrative support services and the management of administrative staff. Key responsibilities include ensuring that the office's administrative operations and services are in compliance with the organization's administrative policy, procedures, rules, and regulations. This involves managing budgets, overseeing property management, and ensuring proper contract arrangements and controls. The role also encompasses providing essential administrative support and services to facilitate the smooth functioning of UNICEF's emergency response efforts. Additionally, the incumbent will contribute to staff learning and development within the administrative team, foster partnership, coordination, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, and perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned as required to support the overall mission in Venezuela.
Work Experience
Minimum of two years of relevant professional work experience in office management, administration, finance, accounting, ICT, human resources, supply, or any other relevant function. Work experience in emergencies is required.
