Job Purpose
The Business Analyst (UNITE) position is crucial for the successful development and implementation of the UNITE system within UNICEF's new Global Office of Strategy and Evidence. This role acts as a vital link between business stakeholders, the Digital and Information Department (DID), and vendors, ensuring that business requirements are accurately captured, understood, and met. The primary objective is to support the creation of high-quality evidence and foresight to bolster UNICEF's global credibility, influence, and leadership in child rights, especially in a complex and resource-constrained environment.
Responsibilities
The Business Analyst will lead the critical processes of requirements gathering, system design, and development support for the UNITE solution. Key responsibilities include coordinating with the Operations and Monitoring & Reporting (MRM) units, as well as technical teams, throughout the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC). This involves eliciting, analyzing, documenting, and validating both business and technical requirements, translating business needs into clear functional and technical specifications. The role also requires understanding the intricate interactions between the UNITE solution and other existing UNICEF systems, with support from the OPS systems team. Furthermore, the Business Analyst will be involved in executing sprints using agile methodologies, such as a Kanban board, and providing support across various SDLC phases, including design review, testing coordination, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect tracking, and post-deployment support.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in business analysis or digital product/project management is required. Experience with programme planning, monitoring, and reporting at the country level, including the use of corporate PMR systems, is essential. Proficiency in eliciting and documenting requirements, applying AI in digital product development, understanding enterprise systems and SDLC, and working in agile environments is also necessary.
