Job Purpose
The Social Mobilization Team Leader Consultant will be primarily responsible for promoting the U-Report On The Move platform and related tools within reception centers. This role focuses on engaging unaccompanied and separated children, young migrants, and refugees. The consultant will coordinate the activities of other social mobilizers, ensuring effective outreach and engagement strategies are implemented. The objective is to enhance the participation and empowerment of vulnerable youth by providing them with access to information and tools through the U-Report platform. This consultancy is crucial for reaching and supporting young people in challenging circumstances, contributing to their well-being and rights fulfillment.
Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate the social mobilization team in promoting the U-Report On The Move platform and associated tools among unaccompanied and separated children, young migrants, and refugees in reception centers. Develop and implement effective social mobilization strategies tailored to the specific needs and contexts of vulnerable youth. Facilitate workshops and engagement activities to introduce and explain the U-Report platform and its benefits. Monitor the progress of social mobilization activities, collect feedback, and report on key performance indicators. Provide guidance and support to other social mobilizers, ensuring consistent messaging and quality of engagement. Collaborate with reception center staff and other stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation of activities. Identify challenges and propose solutions to enhance the reach and impact of the U-Report platform. Ensure that activities are conducted in a culturally sensitive and age-appropriate manner. Maintain accurate records of outreach activities and participant engagement. Contribute to the overall adolescent development programme by fostering youth participation and voice.
Work Experience
A minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience in youth engagement and social mobilization is required. Experience working with vulnerable youth groups, such as those with a migration background or from low socio-economic backgrounds, is essential. Experience in team coordination and a solid understanding of the local context are also necessary.
