Job Purpose
The purpose of this consultancy is to provide technical support in facilitating a tailored training for all UNICEF staff on effective communication and presentation skills. This training aims to equip participants with critical skills to advance UNICEF programme priorities, develop compelling narratives, and confidently deliver audience-tailored pitches for effective internal communication and resource mobilization. The training will strengthen staff capacity to communicate clearly and persuasively through high-quality written, visual, and verbal messaging, grounded in evidence-based communication techniques. This initiative responds to identified capacity gaps in presentation, narrative development, and strategic communication, ensuring staff can translate technical content into impactful messages for diverse audiences, including donors, government, partners, and colleagues.
Responsibilities
The consultant will facilitate a 2.5-hour interactive virtual introductory training session on effective presentation and communication, including written messaging and visual communication, along with 30 minutes of practical writing and/or visual creation activities for participants. Key responsibilities include developing comprehensive training materials (slides, exercises) customized to UNICEF's programme context and resource mobilization needs. The training session will cover effective written messaging and strong visual presentation techniques. The consultant will provide clear instructions and guidance for participants to complete exercises. Additionally, the consultant will submit a summary report detailing the training delivered, including participation and engagement levels, by September 30th. The overall objective is to strengthen staff skills in structuring clear and compelling messages, enhance capacity in visual storytelling and presentation design, build confidence in public speaking for audience-specific pitches, and apply evidence-based techniques to improve persuasion.
Work Experience
At least 5 years of relevant work experience in communication, training facilitation, or a related field.
