Job Purpose

The Social Mobilizer will be primarily responsible for promoting the U-Report On The Move platform and its associated tools within first and second reception centers in Italy. This role specifically targets unaccompanied and separated children, young migrants, and refugees. The objective is to increase engagement with and utilization of the U-Report platform among these vulnerable youth populations, ensuring they are aware of and can access the resources and opportunities it provides. This involves direct outreach, information dissemination, and fostering a supportive environment for participation, ultimately contributing to the well-being and empowerment of young people in challenging circumstances.

Responsibilities

Promote the U-Report On The Move platform and related tools to unaccompanied and separated children, young migrants, and refugees in first and second reception centers across Italy. Conduct outreach activities to raise awareness about the platform's benefits and functionalities. Facilitate workshops and information sessions to encourage user registration and active participation. Gather feedback from young users to identify areas for platform improvement and tailor engagement strategies. Collaborate with reception center staff and relevant stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of U-Report initiatives. Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, participation rates, and user feedback. Provide technical assistance and support to users as needed. Ensure all activities are conducted in a child-friendly and culturally sensitive manner, adhering to UNICEF's principles and mandate. Contribute to the development of communication materials and strategies to enhance youth engagement with U-Report. Monitor and report on the progress of social mobilization efforts, highlighting successes and challenges. Adapt mobilization strategies based on the specific needs and contexts of the target population.

Work Experience

At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in youth engagement is required. Experience working with vulnerable youth groups, such as those with a migration background or from low socio-economic backgrounds, is also required. Familiarity with the local context in Italy is essential.
