Job Purpose
The Programme Officer will provide technical support for monitoring and managing public-sector donor partnerships. This involves ensuring financial monitoring, progress reporting, and contractual amendments are fully aligned with donor requirements. The role contributes to strengthening UNICEF's resource mobilization and reporting efforts by gathering and synthesizing programmatic and financial data for proposals, reports, donor briefs, and concept notes, utilizing results-based management principles. The position aims to enhance partner collaboration through timely follow-up on commitments, reporting timelines, and engagement opportunities, and to support well-organized field missions, visibility events, and joint monitoring visits. Effective cross-team coordination with programme and operations teams is crucial for timely fulfillment of partnership commitments. The role also focuses on enhancing internal capacities and understanding of donor and contractual requirements.
Responsibilities
Support the management of public sector partnerships by maintaining regular communication with partners to follow up on commitments, reporting schedules, visibility requirements, and engagement opportunities. Track partnership milestones and deliverables to ensure compliance with agreements. Assist in organizing partner field missions, donor meetings, and joint monitoring visits. Maintain partnership files, agreements, reporting trackers, and knowledge repositories. Contribute to internal briefings, dashboards, and partnership performance updates. Assist in identifying funding opportunities and donor priorities relevant to UNICEF’s programmes. Support the drafting of high-quality concept notes, proposals, and donor briefs. Contribute to landscape analyses and donor intelligence to inform engagement strategies. Prepare or coordinate inputs for high-quality donor reports, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with donor requirements. Support financial monitoring, tracking budget utilization, and ensuring expenditures align with donor conditions and UNICEF regulations. Monitor implementation of donor-funded activities in collaboration with programme and operations teams. Support the collection and consolidation of programmatic and financial data for reporting. Flag risks or delays related to implementation, finances, or reporting. Ensure effective and regular monitoring of donor-funded projects and programmes, preparing timely status reports and identifying challenges and corrective actions.
Work Experience
A minimum of one year of relevant professional work experience is required.
