Job Purpose
The Partnerships Manager position in Ukraine is designed to significantly deepen collaboration with key stakeholders, providing a critical interface for environmental scanning, knowledge exchange, resource mobilization, and policy influence within the scope of the assignment. This role also serves as a focal point and resource for colleagues on specific thematic areas of strategic relevance for partnership development. The key result is to ensure greater visibility for UNICEF, secure increased resources, and amplify its influence in support of its mission to promote the rights and well-being of every child. The manager is also entrusted with the responsibility of supervising a dedicated team and managing broad, complex initiatives across Ukraine, ensuring that partnership strategies are effectively developed and implemented to meet the organization's objectives and serve the needs of children and communities. This involves proactive engagement to foster strong relationships and secure vital support for UNICEF's programs.
Responsibilities
The Partnerships Manager supports senior management in establishing annual work plans, setting priorities, and monitoring progress to ensure timely and standard-compliant results. This includes establishing clear performance objectives for team members, providing timely guidance for efficient duty performance. The manager leads assigned work plans, ensuring timely, cost-effective delivery aligned with UNICEF’s partnership strategy. Key duties involve actively seeking and promoting new partnerships and resource mobilization across diverse public, international financial, and private sector partners, brokering agreements to meet needs. The role screens inquiries, facilitates communication, and scans the external environment for opportunities and risks, sharing information promptly. Strategic support is provided to senior management for corporate engagement with partners. The manager develops and maintains deep knowledge of partners and stakeholders, contributing to a key contact database and UNICEF’s knowledge base. They expand UNICEF’s network of key interlocutors to build stronger relationships with governments, decision-makers, institutions, and civil society. The manager develops and implements annual partnership engagement and resource mobilization strategies. They act as a focal point for outreach, engagement, and policy influence, anticipating partner concerns, ensuring UNICEF’s interests are integrated into policy processes, and contributing to high-level outreach initiatives. The role also contributes to new partnership practices by formulating recommendations based on monitoring trends and developing strategic approaches, and contributes to communications and advocacy products to enhance UNICEF’s visibility and influence, ensuring advocacy aligns with program insights.
