Job Purpose

The Supply and Logistics Officer plays a crucial role in managing and supporting the supply chains within the UNICEF Pacific Multi-Country Office. This position is responsible for overseeing various aspects of the supply chain, including planning, procurement, contracting, customs clearance, warehousing, and in-country distribution. The incumbent will provide essential technical and operational support to ensure the efficient delivery of supplies and services, contributing directly to programmatic needs and achieving positive outcomes for children across the Pacific region. This role also involves collaborating with programme teams and providing advisory support to governments and national partners on effective supply chain management practices.

Responsibilities

The Supply and Logistics Officer will be accountable for ensuring effective supply chain service delivery and contributing to emergency response efforts when required. This includes managing the planning, procurement, and contracting processes for a range of supplies, services, and construction works. The role involves coordinating customs clearance, warehousing, and in-country transportation and distribution to ensure timely delivery. A key responsibility is to monitor the status of all supplies and services throughout the supply chain. The incumbent will collaborate closely with programme sections and implementing partners to align supply chain strategies with programmatic objectives and to ensure that supply interventions effectively meet the needs of children. Furthermore, the officer will provide technical and advisory support to governments, national systems, and partners on best practices in supply chain management, aiming to strengthen local capacities. The role also encompasses identifying and exploring innovative products and markets to enhance supply chain efficiency and effectiveness.

Work Experience

A minimum of two (2) years of professional work experience at the national and/or international level in supply chain management, procurement, logistics, contract management, administration, or other directly related technical fields is required.
