Job Purpose
Under the guidance of the Chief of Field Operations and Emergencies, the Information Management Officer is responsible for developing and maintaining information management systems, tools, and products to support effective emergency preparedness, response, and coordination across the Country Office. The incumbent will contribute to data collection, analysis, visualization, and reporting to enable evidence-based decision-making. They will also provide dedicated support to UNICEF-led sectors in strengthening their information management capacity and systematic engagement with partners, ensuring coherence and alignment with corporate PME and reporting frameworks.
Responsibilities
Supports and contributes to the development, implementation, and maintenance of information management systems, databases, and tools for evidence-based decision-making within the Field Coordination and Emergencies (FCE) section and relevant programme sections. Supports the sub-national risk inform process, including the development and maintenance of risk dashboards and spatial/temporal analysis of risk indicators for emergency preparedness and anticipatory action. Leverages GIS for map production and geographic data management, creating mapping products for emergency needs, response coverage, access constraints, and gaps to support advocacy and strategic decision-making. Supports UNICEF-led sectors in managing and updating sectoral and cross-sectoral information and data management systems, ensuring data quality assurance and timely updates. Designs and delivers training for sector partners on IM tools and platforms, providing ongoing technical support. Supports UNICEF-led sectors in mapping humanitarian needs and response, including the development and maintenance of 5Ws and service mapping products.
Work Experience
A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in information management, data management, geographical information systems, assessments, situation analysis, and/or monitoring and evaluation with the UN and/or NGOs.
