Job Purpose
The purpose of this consultancy is to provide UNICEF Ethiopia with high-quality photography and videography for multimedia platforms. These visual assets will be used to effectively showcase UNICEF-supported development and emergency interventions, serving crucial roles in advocacy, awareness-raising, and resource mobilization efforts. The produced content is vital for drawing global attention to the situation of children in Ethiopia, supporting advocacy campaigns, and bolstering fundraising initiatives. Much of the content generated by the Ethiopia Country Office (ECO) is also utilized by UNICEF Headquarters, National Committees, the Regional Office, and other partners, highlighting the significant impact and reach of this role in communicating UNICEF's mission and achievements.
Responsibilities
Capture high-quality photographic and videographic content that effectively documents UNICEF-supported development and emergency interventions across Ethiopia. Produce compelling visual narratives that align with UNICEF's communication objectives for advocacy, awareness-raising, and resource mobilization. Cover specific events, field visits, and programme activities as requested by UNICEF programme sections, partners, and donors. Ensure all produced content is suitable for various multimedia platforms, including digital, social media, and print. Collaborate with UNICEF communication teams to understand specific content needs and messaging requirements. Edit and deliver raw footage and final photo/video products in a timely manner, adhering to UNICEF's brand guidelines and quality standards. Contribute to the global visibility of children's situations in Ethiopia by providing content that can be used by UNICEF Headquarters, National Committees, and Regional Offices. Maintain a professional and ethical approach while working in diverse and potentially sensitive field environments. Ensure all visual content respects the dignity and rights of the individuals photographed or filmed, particularly children. Manage and organize all captured media assets, providing clear metadata and descriptions for easy retrieval and use.
Work Experience
Minimum of five years of professional work experience in photography and videography.
