Job Purpose

The consultancy aims to strengthen the institutional, technical, methodological, and human capacities of professionals within Equatorial Guinea's protection and justice system. This will be achieved through specialized listening and testimony-taking techniques for children and adolescents who are victims, survivors, and witnesses of crimes. The objective is to foster a qualitative change in how institutions interact with children and adolescents, promoting rights-based practices, preventing re-victimization, and considering their specific developmental needs. The consultancy will develop practical, contextualized, and user-friendly pedagogical tools, including a Technical Guide, a Trainer's Manual, and a train-the-trainer program to ensure national sustainability and replicability.

Responsibilities

Develop a practical Technical Guide for participants, focusing on operational aspects with step-by-step procedures, clear guidance for real-life situations, and concrete tools for prosecutors and justice operators. This includes practical examples, checklists, and role definitions for testimony-taking. Create a Trainer's Manual designed for trainers, providing them with the necessary content and pedagogical approaches to effectively deliver training on specialized listening and testimony-taking for children and adolescents. Design and adapt a digital/hybrid training program for trainers, ensuring it is accessible and effective in the national context. Develop and implement a comprehensive 'train-the-trainer' program to build local capacity, ensuring the sustainability and replicability of the methodologies and tools developed. Ensure all developed materials are adapted to the specific context of Equatorial Guinea, addressing the identified challenges of lack of standardization, adultocentric approaches, and the risk of re-victimization. Support the translation of existing international and regional standards into practical, understandable, and relevant operational tools for justice professionals.

Work Experience

Experience in developing technical guides, training manuals, and training programs, particularly in child protection, justice, or related fields, is essential. Familiarity with international standards on child testimony and protection is highly desirable.
