Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to strengthen the UNICEF National Response in Italy's knowledge management and communications functions. The consultant will support harmonizing data collection and analysis, enhance institutional learning, and bolster the office's publications, events, partnerships, and external positioning. Key objectives include improving communications, fostering partnerships, and strengthening internal coordination. The role is crucial for evidence-based advocacy, cooperation with donors, and enhancing the external visibility of UNICEF's response efforts in Italy, particularly concerning the significant influx of refugees and migrants, including unaccompanied children.
Responsibilities
Provide support to the UNICEF National Response in Italy for information and knowledge management, focusing on harmonizing data collection, analysis, and institutional learning. Strengthen the office’s publications, events, partnerships, and external positioning. Support communications and partnership activities, as well as internal coordination efforts. Capture institutional knowledge and lessons learned from the Refugee and Migrant Response Platform (RMRP). Support the coordinated production of communications and visibility products, such as the annual report, publications, and events. Reinforce internal coordination mechanisms to ensure cohesive operations. Contribute to evidence-based advocacy strategies. Facilitate cooperation with donors, in close collaboration with the Italian National Committee. Enhance the external positioning of the UNICEF National Response in Italy. Assist in monitoring the quality of the reception system and tracking the impact of UNICEF interventions. Organize information and knowledge for institutional use, including document and records management and the maintenance of repositories and knowledge-sharing systems.
Work Experience
At least one year of relevant professional experience in information and knowledge management, data collection, analysis, reporting, communications, and/or administrative coordination, preferably within a UN, international, or humanitarian organization. Experience with digital data collection platforms (e.g., KoBo Toolbox, ODK) and analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is required. Demonstrated experience in producing communications products and coordinating publications/events is essential.
