Job Purpose

UNICEF Philippines is looking for an Education Officer who will provide technical, operational, and administrative support to the Education Programme. Under the supervision of the Education Specialist, as an Education Officer, you will contribute to the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and reporting of education initiatives that strengthen multiple flexible learning pathways for out-of-school and out-of-formal-school children and young people.
Responsibilities
As an Education Officer, you will support the implementation of UNICEF's Learning to Earning Pathways (LEaP!) programme and ICT-supported learning initiatives for the Alternative Learning System (ICT4ALS), working closely with government counterparts (both at the national and local levels), civil society organizations, and other development partners. As an Education Officer, you will support programme management, stakeholder coordination, partnership building, knowledge generation, and evidence-based programming to help ensure that vulnerable young people have improved access to quality learning opportunities, transferable and digital skills, career guidance, and referral pathways to education, employment, entrepreneurship, and civic engagement. As an Education Officer, you will also provide technical assistance to government partners, including the National Youth Commission (NYC), the Department of Education (DepEd), and other relevant agencies, to strengthen their capacity in delivering inclusive and quality education services for children and young people.
Work Experience
At least two years of professional experience in programme planning, management, and implementation in the field of education, preferably with experience in flexible learning pathways, alternative learning systems, or youth empowerment programmes. Experience working with government counterparts and civil society organizations is desirable.
