Job Purpose
As the Child Protection Officer, reporting to the Chief, Child Protection, you will provide professional technical, operational, and administrative support throughout the programming process for child protection programmes and projects within the Country Programme. This includes supporting development planning, implementation, progress monitoring, evaluation, and reporting. You will prepare, coordinate, manage, and implement a range of technical and administrative programme activities to ensure the effective delivery of results. Your role is crucial in advancing UNICEF's fundamental mission to promote the rights of every child, everywhere, in everything the organization does, with a particular focus on equity for the most disadvantaged and excluded children and families.
Responsibilities
Support programme development and planning by conducting situation analyses and contributing to the formulation of programme objectives and strategies. Manage, monitor, and deliver results for child protection programmes, ensuring alignment with UNICEF's strategic goals and equity focus. Provide technical and operational support to programme implementation, including the development of work plans, budgets, and resource mobilization efforts. Foster networking and partnership building with government counterparts, NGOs, UN agencies, and other stakeholders to enhance programme effectiveness and sustainability. Drive innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building within the child protection sector, sharing best practices and lessons learned. Ensure that all activities are conducted in accordance with UNICEF's core values and competency framework, demonstrating accountability, ethical awareness, and a drive for results.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of professional experience in social development planning and management in child protection related areas is required.
