Job Purpose
In Argentina, UNICEF implements its Country Programme 2026–2030, focusing on strengthening public policies, expanding access to essential services, and reducing inequalities affecting children and adolescents. Advocacy and Communication are central to achieving these objectives. The Communication team leads the design and implementation of media and digital strategies, campaigns, and content to position children’s rights on the public agenda, contribute to policy and legislative change, and influence public opinion. The team also manages media relations, supports partnerships and resource mobilization efforts, and monitors the impact of communication initiatives. The Communication Associate provides technical and administrative support to the implementation of communication strategies, supporting the planning, production, and monitoring of digital and media content, campaigns, and communication activities.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Communication Specialist (NO-3), and in close coordination with the Advocacy and Media Officer and the Digital Communication Officer, the Communication Associate (GS-6) provides technical and administrative support to the implementation of communication strategies. This includes supporting the planning, production, and monitoring of digital and media content, campaigns, and communication activities. The Communication Associate works closely with programme and fundraising teams, as well as external partners and suppliers, contributing to the delivery of high-quality communication outputs and to the effective positioning of UNICEF priorities. Key functions/accountabilities include supporting the implementation of communication and advocacy strategies, supporting the development and implementation of Digital Strategy initiatives, and assisting in the execution of online campaigns and digital pieces of communication. The role also involves testing, research, and detection of new innovations in social media, digital platforms, and audio-visual content to enhance UNICEF's communication reach and impact.
Work Experience
A minimum of six years of relevant work experience in communication, public relations, media, or a related field. Experience in supporting communication campaigns and digital content creation is an asset.
