Job Purpose
The Procurement Associate will provide support to the Infrastructure & Energy Centre (IEC) within UNICEF Supply Division (SD). The IEC provides operational and normative support and guidance on infrastructure and energy supplies and services, including quality assurance. The role involves supporting market influencing efforts, product management, data collection, and procurement of equipment and related services. The Associate will contribute to ensuring equitable and inclusive access to essential supplies and services for children and their families, critical for saving lives, supporting health and education, and protecting children from abuse, exploitation, and neglect.
Responsibilities
Support the Infrastructure & Energy Centre (IEC) in the procurement of infrastructure and energy supplies and services. Assist in quality assurance processes for procured infrastructure. Contribute to market influencing efforts for cold chain and solarization equipment. Participate in systematic data collection and product performance monitoring. Support the procurement of equipment and related service bundles for installation, operation, and maintenance. Provide tools and guidance to Country Offices (COs) on construction, solarization equipment, cold chain equipment, and PSA oxygen plants. Assist in mobilizing a skilled community and managing relationships with donors and partners. Ensure compliance with UNICEF procurement policies and procedures. Support the Supply Division's overall objective of ensuring equitable and inclusive access to essential supplies for children and their families. Assist in supply chain optimization initiatives related to infrastructure and energy. Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.
Work Experience
A minimum of six years of relevant work experience in procurement, supply chain, or a related field is required. Experience in international organizations or the UN system is an asset.
