Job Purpose
The National Knowledge Translation Consultant (Juvenile Justice) will work under the supervision of the UNICEF Child Protection Specialist and in close coordination with relevant institutional stakeholders, including Juvenile Courts, Prefectures, Local Authorities, and reception actors. The primary objective is to ensure that key findings and lessons learned from UNICEF's work in strengthening the Italian child protection system for Unaccompanied and Separated Children (UASC) are effectively disseminated to targeted audiences. This involves translating substantial bodies of evidence, analysis, and good practices related to the interaction between the juvenile justice system and the reception system into actionable insights for policy relevance and operational uptake.
Responsibilities
The consultant will develop a dissemination strategy tailored to different institutional and professional audiences, such as judicial authorities, central administrations, and territorial services. This strategy will identify appropriate formats, channels, and messaging to maximize policy relevance and operational uptake. The consultant will translate analytical findings on interinstitutional coordination, governance models, and protection pathways into clear, accessible, and policy-oriented dissemination products, including synthesis notes, policy briefs, presentations, and other knowledge products. Furthermore, the consultant will support the capitalization of replicable good practices emerging from territorial coordination between Juvenile Courts and reception actors, highlighting their added value, enabling factors, and conditions for transferability. The role also involves contributing to the organization and facilitation of dissemination moments, such as technical meetings, workshops, and national or interinstitutional events, ensuring coherent messaging and effective engagement with stakeholders.
Work Experience
A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in child protection, juvenile justice, or a related field. Experience in knowledge translation, dissemination strategies, and working with governmental and non-governmental stakeholders is highly desirable.
