Job Purpose
UNICEF Haiti is seeking a passionate and results-driven Advocacy and Communication Officer to join our team in Port-au-Prince. This role is an opportunity to make a significant impact by using strategic communications to drive change for children. Reporting to the Chief of Communication, the officer will lead and support high-impact advocacy campaigns, media engagement, strategic partnerships, and digital communications. The primary goal is to influence policy, mobilize support, and amplify children's voices, thereby strengthening UNICEF's visibility, securing greater commitment for children's rights, and delivering meaningful results for every child in Haiti.
Responsibilities
The Advocacy and Communication Officer will support the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of integrated advocacy and communication strategies. This involves collaborative work across teams and with external partners to influence policy and practice, strengthen political and financial commitments for children, and achieve measurable results. Key functions include developing and implementing advocacy and communication strategies, managing media relations, conducting monitoring and evaluation, providing project and budget support, building advocacy and communication capacity, and engaging with stakeholders. Through strategic advocacy, partnerships, and innovative digital communications, the officer will raise awareness of children's rights, mobilize public support, enhance UNICEF's visibility and credibility, and contribute to improved outcomes for every child.
Work Experience
At least two years of relevant professional experience in advocacy, communications, public relations, or a related field, preferably in a humanitarian or development context. Experience in developing and implementing communication strategies and managing media relations is essential.
