Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to support the Centres of Excellence Child Protection and SBC teams in delivering technical assistance to UNICEF Country Offices. The primary goal is to strengthen Social Behaviour Change (SBC)-informed parenting for Violence Against Children (VAC) prevention and to improve broader parenting outcomes across the life course. The consultant will contribute to documenting good practices, developing global and regional guidance, and supporting cross-country and cross-regional learning. Additionally, the role involves strengthening practical SBC resources for adaptation across various contexts, thereby enhancing UNICEF's capacity to address violence against children and promote positive caregiving globally.
Responsibilities
The consultant will provide technical assistance to UNICEF Country Offices to strengthen SBC-informed parenting for VAC prevention and improve broader parenting outcomes. This includes supporting the development, review, and adaptation of strategic and policy frameworks related to parenting support. The consultant will also contribute to the design, adaptation, and scale-up of integrated parenting programmes within national systems. A key responsibility is developing SBC-informed parenting strategies and interventions to address harmful social and gender norms. Furthermore, the consultant will document good practices, develop global and regional guidance, and facilitate cross-country and cross-regional learning. The role also involves strengthening practical SBC resources for adaptation across different contexts, ensuring effective implementation of parenting programmes to prevent violence against children and promote positive caregiving.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in child protection, social and behaviour change, parenting support programmes, or related areas. Experience in developing and implementing evidence-based interventions is essential.
