Job Purpose
The Programme Associate, under supervision, provides specialized program and administrative support to facilitate the development, implementation, and monitoring of UNICEF's programs. This role involves significant data analysis, budget tracking, reporting, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective program delivery and compliance with organizational rules. The incumbent is expected to exercise judgment, anticipate needs, and recommend actions that contribute to successful program planning, implementation, and reporting, ultimately supporting UNICEF's mission to promote the rights and well-being of children.
Responsibilities
The Programme Associate will be responsible for providing specialized program and administrative support to facilitate the development, implementation, and monitoring of UNICEF's programs. Key duties include substantial engagement in data analysis, budget tracking, and reporting to ensure effective program delivery and compliance with organizational rules. The role requires coordination with internal and external stakeholders, including implementing partners, to manage projects and ensure timely execution. The incumbent will also be involved in grant management, monitoring budget allocations and expenditures, and tracking grant utilization using relevant systems like SAP. Additionally, the role may involve supporting digital innovation, operational efficiency initiatives, communication, knowledge sharing, capacity building, and event coordination. Flexibility and surge support during emergency responses or re-prioritization events may also be required, along with ensuring adherence to PSEA policies and contributing to program activities in development, fragile, and humanitarian contexts.
Work Experience
A minimum of six years of relevant work experience in administration, program management, operations, clerical work, project coordination, grant management, budget monitoring, or compliance, preferably within UN organizations.
