Job Purpose
The Social & Behavior Change Specialist will be responsible for the design, formulation, management, execution, monitoring, and evaluation of a behavioral change and social mobilization strategy, plan of action, and programme activities. This role supports the Social and Behavior Change (SBC) component of the country programme, providing technical and operational support for developing a systematic, planned, and evidence-based strategy for SBC in health and nutrition. Special emphasis will be placed on zero-dose children for routine immunization, polio, measles supplementary immunization campaigns, and integrated maternal, child health, HIV, and nutrition campaigns. The specialist will also guide cross-sectoral programs in WASH, Child Protection, and Education, promoting measurable behavioral and social change through communication, engagement, and stakeholder participation to achieve sustainable results in improving children's rights and survival.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Chief of Health and Nutrition and in collaboration with other relevant programme colleagues, the Social & Behavior Change Specialist is accountable for the design, formulation, management, execution, monitoring, and evaluation of a behavioral change and social mobilization strategy, plan of action, and programme activities. This role is crucial for supporting the SBC component of the country programme. The specialist will provide technical and operational support for developing a systematic, planned, and evidence-based strategy and process for SBC in the area of health and nutrition. Key focus areas include zero-dose children for routine immunization, polio, measles supplementary immunization campaigns, and integrated maternal, child health, HIV, and nutrition campaigns. Furthermore, the specialist will guide cross-sectoral program efforts in WASH, Child Protection, and Education. Through effective communication and engagement, and by fostering the participation of stakeholders, communities, children, civil society partners, and government counterparts, the specialist will promote measurable behavioral and social change/mobilization. This work will contribute to the achievement of sustainable and concrete results in improving children's rights, survival, and overall well-being.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of professional experience in Social and Behavior Change (SBC) communication, public health, or a related field is required. Experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating SBC strategies and programs, particularly in health and nutrition, is essential. Experience working with UN or other international organizations is an asset.
