Job Purpose
The Education Officer GJP is to be utilized in a Country Office (CO) where the Education Programme is an integral part of the Country Programme or UNDAF. Reporting to the Education Specialist (Level 3), the Education Officer provides essential professional technical, operational, and administrative support throughout the entire programming cycle for education initiatives. This includes development planning, execution, management, and implementation of a diverse range of technical and administrative tasks, ensuring effective programme development, implementation, progress monitoring, evaluation, and reporting to facilitate the achievement of educational goals for children.
Responsibilities
The Education Officer will support programme development and planning, ensuring alignment with UNICEF's strategic objectives and the specific needs of the country. They will manage programme activities, monitor progress, and ensure the delivery of results, adhering to timelines and quality standards. The role involves providing technical and operational support to facilitate the effective implementation of education programmes and projects. Furthermore, the Education Officer will be responsible for networking and building partnerships with government bodies, NGOs, and other stakeholders to enhance programme reach and impact. They will also contribute to innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building initiatives within the education sector, sharing best practices and lessons learned to foster continuous improvement and sustainable development.
Work Experience
A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in Programme Planning, Management, and/or Research in Education is required.
