Job Purpose
The consultant will support UNICEF Nigeria in strengthening Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) innovation, digital engagement, and Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) systems as part of integrated programming. This role is crucial for enhancing how UNICEF connects with and serves children and communities in Nigeria. The consultancy will involve key activities such as conducting a Digital Youth Engagement Study to understand and leverage digital platforms for youth outreach and participation. Additionally, the consultant will support the NOA Hotline Transition, ensuring a smooth and effective shift to new systems for feedback and communication. A significant component will also be strengthening AAP Information Management, which involves developing and implementing robust systems for collecting, analyzing, and utilizing feedback from affected populations to inform programming and decision-making. The overall aim is to improve UNICEF's responsiveness and effectiveness through innovative digital strategies and strong accountability mechanisms.
Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for supporting UNICEF Nigeria in enhancing its Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) innovation, digital engagement, and Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) systems. This includes leading the Digital Youth Engagement Study to identify effective strategies for reaching and engaging young people through digital channels. The consultant will also play a key role in the NOA Hotline Transition, ensuring a seamless migration to new platforms and processes for managing communication and feedback. Furthermore, the consultant will be tasked with strengthening AAP Information Management systems, developing frameworks for collecting, analyzing, and reporting on feedback from affected populations. This involves designing and implementing community feedback mechanisms and ensuring that data gathered is used to inform programme adjustments and improve accountability. The consultant will also be responsible for documenting findings, developing reports, and creating dashboards to visualize data and facilitate decision-making. Coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders, including government agencies and implementing partners, will be essential to ensure successful integration of these systems. The consultant must manage deliverables independently and adhere to project timelines while ensuring compliance with data protection and safeguarding principles.
Work Experience
Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in Social and Behaviour Change, Accountability to Affected Populations, community feedback mechanisms, digital engagement, information management, or related programme support. Demonstrated experience supporting coordination, analysis, documentation, and use of feedback/data systems for programme decision-making is required.
