Job Purpose
The consultant will develop a systematization for the adequate management of solid waste and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services in Health Establishments (ES) at the first level of care. This will be done within the conceptual framework of WASHFIT (UNICEF and WHO's WASH services progressive improvement tool). The consultant will collect and analyze best practices, gaps, and recommendations to contribute to standardization and strengthening processes in Health Establishments. The goal is to favor the scaling up of these practices nationally, in line with the health policies of the Government of Honduras. The consultancy is for a proposed duration of 4 months.
Responsibilities
Develop a systematization for the adequate management of solid waste and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services in Health Establishments (ES) at the first level of care. Utilize the WASHFIT conceptual framework (UNICEF and WHO's WASH services progressive improvement tool). Collect and analyze best practices, identify gaps, and formulate recommendations to contribute to standardization and strengthening processes in Health Establishments. Facilitate the scaling up of these practices to a national level, aligning with the health policies of the Government of Honduras. This involves active coordination with diverse stakeholders, facilitation of workshops, and production of consultation documents and reports. The consultant will also be responsible for ensuring quality in processes and results, working effectively in teams, and demonstrating proactivity and initiative throughout the assignment.
Work Experience
At least 5 years of experience in coordinating and promoting safe access to water, sanitation, and hygiene services in development contexts. This includes experience in workshop facilitation, active coordination with diverse actors, and producing consultation documents and reports.
