Job Purpose
The Education Officer, under the supervision of the Chief Field Office, provides professional technical, operational, and administrative support for education programmes and projects within the Country Programme. This role involves assisting throughout the programming process, from development planning to results delivery. The officer will prepare, execute, manage, and implement various technical and administrative tasks to facilitate programme development, implementation, progress monitoring, evaluation, and reporting, ensuring alignment with UNICEF's mission to support the realization of children's rights.
Responsibilities
The Education Officer will support programme development and planning by contributing to the design and formulation of education strategies and projects. They will manage, monitor, and ensure the delivery of results for education programmes, tracking progress against objectives and identifying any deviations. The role involves providing technical and operational assistance throughout the implementation phase, ensuring activities are carried out effectively and efficiently. Building and maintaining strong partnerships with government counterparts, NGOs, and other stakeholders is crucial for programme success. The officer will also contribute to innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building within the education sector, sharing best practices and lessons learned. This includes supporting disaster risk reduction initiatives and ensuring that programmes are responsive to the needs of children, particularly in fragile and humanitarian contexts.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of relevant work experience is necessary. This experience should be in areas such as Education Programme Management, Humanitarian Assistance, Education Governance, Early Childhood Education, Access to Education, Education Information and Data Management, Non-formal Education, or Learning Outcomes Improvement.
