Job Purpose
Under the supervision of the Chief Field Office, the Education Officer provides professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for education programmes/projects within the Country Programme from development planning to delivery of results. This involves preparing, executing, managing and implementing a variety of technical and administrative programme tasks to facilitate programme development, implementation, progress monitoring, evaluating and reporting. The role supports programme development and planning, programme management, monitoring and delivery of results, and provides technical and operational support to programme implementation. It also involves networking and partnership building, and contributing to innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building within the education sector.
Responsibilities
Support to programme development and planning, including needs assessment, strategy formulation, and work plan development. Programme management, monitoring and delivery of results, ensuring timely and effective implementation of education projects and activities. Technical and operational support to programme implementation, providing guidance and expertise to partners and stakeholders. Networking and partnership building with government counterparts, NGOs, UN agencies, and other stakeholders to foster collaboration and resource mobilization. Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building, by identifying best practices, documenting lessons learned, and supporting the development of local capacities. This includes monitoring programme progress, evaluating outcomes, and preparing comprehensive reports on programme activities and achievements. The officer will also be responsible for managing programme budgets and ensuring compliance with UNICEF rules and regulations.
Work Experience
At least 2 years of relevant work experience in Education Programme Management, Humanitarian Assistance, Education Governance, Early Childhood Education, Access to Education, Education Information and Data Management, Non-formal Education, or Learning Outcomes Improvement.
