Job Purpose
The consultancy aims to accelerate the operationalization of the economic development component of the National Directorate for Population and Economic Development (DNPDE). Following a presidential decree, the DNPDE's scope has expanded to explicitly include economic development, requiring enhanced functions in analysis, planning, coordination, and monitoring-evaluation of public policies at the population-economy interface. The consultant will provide technical support to structure the necessary tools, processes, and deliverables for the DNPDE to effectively exercise its mandate and achieve visible results within the first year of its enhanced functions.
Responsibilities
The senior consultant will provide technical assistance to the National Directorate for Population and Economic Development (DNPDE) for the operationalization of its economic development component. This includes supporting the structuring of tools, processes, and deliverables essential for the DNPDE to fulfill its mandate. The consultant will contribute to enhancing the directorate's capacities in economic analysis, planning, coordination, and the monitoring and evaluation of public policies related to the population-economy nexus. Specific tasks will involve developing frameworks for results, dashboards, and reporting systems to ensure effective tracking and management of economic development initiatives. The consultant will work closely with DNPDE staff to build their expertise and ensure the sustainable implementation of new strategies and tools, aiming for tangible outcomes within the initial year of the expanded mandate.
Work Experience
Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in economic analysis, planning, decision support, and/or the development of monitoring tools (results frameworks, dashboards, reporting systems).
