Job Purpose
The Senior Security Associate in Gaza plays a crucial role in supporting the safety and security of UNICEF personnel, assets, and operations within a highly complex and volatile environment. This position contributes to effective security planning, field coordination, and programme implementation in a dynamic humanitarian context. The role involves supporting security risk management, operational security, humanitarian access, emergency preparedness, incident response, physical security, and civil-military coordination across East Jerusalem, the West Bank, and Gaza.
Responsibilities
The Senior Security Associate is accountable for supporting security planning, including risk assessments and the development of security plans. They will provide safety and security services, ensuring the well-being of personnel and the protection of assets. This includes monitoring the security environment, implementing security measures, and responding to incidents. The role involves developing and maintaining security networking with relevant stakeholders, including UN agencies, NGOs, and local authorities, to facilitate information sharing and coordination. Additionally, the Associate will support knowledge management and capacity building initiatives, contributing to the overall security awareness and preparedness of the UNICEF team in the State of Palestine. This includes assisting in the delivery of security training and providing guidance on security protocols.
Work Experience
At least 7 years of relevant work experience in Security, Security Environment, Security Operations, Police Services, Military Services, Risk Management, Emergency Response, Physical Security, Incident Management, Security Coordination, or Humanitarian Security.
