Job Purpose
The IT Software Developer National Consultant will be responsible for the implementation of approved functional and technical enhancements, development, and maintenance of software components. This role involves executing technical testing, correcting identified defects, and providing support for functional testing and deployment activities. The consultant will ensure the technical quality, stability, security, and proper functioning of developed functionalities, adhering strictly to approved functional specifications. The consultancy is for a duration of 6 months and is office-based in Maputo, Mozambique. The primary objective is to contribute to the development and maintenance of critical information systems, ensuring they meet high standards of performance and reliability.
Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for the full lifecycle of software development, including the implementation of approved functional and technical enhancements. This includes developing and maintaining software components, ensuring code quality, and performing thorough technical testing to identify and rectify defects. The role requires active participation in the correction of identified bugs and issues. Furthermore, the consultant will provide essential support to functional testing activities and assist in the deployment of planned solutions. A key responsibility is to ensure that all developed functionalities meet the approved functional specifications, maintaining high standards of technical quality, stability, and security. The consultant will also be involved in data modeling, utilizing tools like Enterprise Architect, and creating diagrams such as UML and BPMN. Working with Oracle or PostgreSQL databases will be a core part of the development process. The consultant is expected to contribute to the overall stability and performance of the information systems.
Work Experience
Requires proven experience in developing and implementing at least one enterprise-grade, mission-critical information system, including environments with distributed transactions, fault tolerance, and high availability. Demonstrated experience in Java development, using Enterprise Architect or similar modeling tools, data modeling, UML, BPMN, and working with Oracle or PostgreSQL databases is essential.
