Organizational Context
UNICEF Lebanon is seeking a skilled professional to support the planning and execution of evaluation activities. This role is crucial for providing operational, administrative, coordination, and technical assistance to ensure the effective implementation of evaluations within the country office. Job Purpose
The Evaluation Coordinator will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to the planning and implementation of evaluation activities within UNICEF Lebanon. This includes coordinating logistical arrangements, managing documentation, facilitating communication among stakeholders, and ensuring that evaluation processes adhere to UNICEF's standards and timelines. The role is vital for enhancing the quality and impact of evaluations, which inform programme design, policy development, and accountability. The incumbent will work closely with evaluation consultants, programme sections, and external partners to ensure smooth execution of evaluation tasks, contributing to evidence-based decision-making and the overall achievement of UNICEF's goals for children in Lebanon. This position is key to strengthening UNICEF's learning agenda and programmatic effectiveness.
Responsibilities
Coordinate the planning and implementation of evaluation activities, ensuring adherence to UNICEF's evaluation policy and procedures. Provide logistical and administrative support for evaluation missions, including travel arrangements, venue booking, and participant coordination. Manage and organize evaluation-related documentation, ensuring proper filing and accessibility. Facilitate communication and collaboration among evaluation teams, programme sections, government counterparts, and implementing partners. Support the development and finalization of Terms of Reference (ToRs) for evaluations. Assist in the selection and contracting of external evaluation consultants. Monitor the progress of ongoing evaluations, track timelines, and report on any challenges or delays. Support the dissemination of evaluation findings and recommendations to relevant stakeholders. Contribute to building the capacity of UNICEF staff and partners in evaluation methods and utilization. Maintain an updated database of ongoing and completed evaluations. Assist in the preparation of evaluation budgets and financial tracking. Ensure compliance with ethical standards and quality assurance in all evaluation processes.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in coordinating projects or programmes, preferably in the context of development or humanitarian work. Experience in supporting evaluation processes is highly desirable.
