Job Purpose
The national consultant will develop an integrated guide for facilitating "Espaces Amis des Enfants" (EAEs), incorporating education, protection, health, nutrition, and climate change themes. This role involves analyzing existing facilitation content, proposing new content based on MHPSS standards and local realities, and developing a practical guide with age-specific activities. The consultant will also create data collection tools for EAE attendance and activities, and develop training materials, including visual aids and videos, for volunteer facilitators. The objective is to ensure these EAEs are inclusive, accessible, and effectively support children's well-being and development.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Chief of the Education Section and in coordination with the Chief of the Child Protection Section, the national consultant will collaborate with government and NGO partners. Key responsibilities include: conducting an analysis and consolidation of existing EAE facilitation content; proposing EAE facilitation content options based on MHPSS standards and existing materials, integrating themes of child rights, child protection, climate change, health, and nutrition, including educational routines; developing an integrated practical guide for EAE facilitation adapted to local contexts with age-structured activities; creating data collection tools for EAE attendance and activities; developing training tools (e.g., image banks, video capsules, material lists) and a training plan for volunteer facilitators on the integrated guide, ensuring materials are easy to use, attractive, translated into local languages if possible, and accessible to people with disabilities; organizing focus groups and interviews to gather user feedback, including from children and youth, on tool comprehension; and performing quality assurance for the production of all deliverables.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in designing and/or implementing social programs, particularly those related to education and child protection, including themes of climate change, health, and nutrition.
