Job Purpose
The Global MHPSS Leadership Team seeks a consultant to enhance the generation, communication, and utilization of mental health data and evidence at community, national, and global levels. This role is crucial for guiding decision-making processes related to child and adolescent mental health (CAMH) systems. The consultant will be instrumental in developing operational models, guidance, and tools, facilitating essential stakeholder consultations, and meticulously documenting country experiences, case studies, and lessons learned. The ultimate aim is to strengthen CAMH systems worldwide by ensuring that data and evidence effectively inform policies and programmes, leading to improved outcomes for children and adolescents. This consultancy is a temporary, output-based engagement, with deliverables aligned with specific workplan activities over a 12-month period.
Responsibilities
Support the generation, communication, and use of mental health data and evidence at community, national, and global levels to guide decision-making. Develop operational models, guidance, and tools to strengthen child and adolescent mental health (CAMH) systems. Facilitate stakeholder consultations to gather insights and foster collaboration. Document country experiences, case studies, and lessons learned to inform future interventions and policy development. Conduct scoping reviews or research to identify key trends and gaps in MHPSS data. Organize and lead focus group discussions (FGDs) and consultations with diverse stakeholder groups, including policymakers, practitioners, and community members. Assist in the development or implementation of toolkits or simulations designed to support data-driven decision-making in MHPSS. Analyze existing data and research to identify actionable insights for programme improvement and policy advocacy. Prepare reports, presentations, and other communication materials to disseminate findings and recommendations to relevant stakeholders. Contribute to the overall strategy and workplan of the Global MHPSS Leadership Team, ensuring alignment with UNICEF's goals and objectives. Provide technical support and expertise on MHPSS data and evidence use to country offices and partners.
Work Experience
Expertise in mental health data and evidence use. Experience working with diverse stakeholders to improve the use of data, research, and evidence for programme or policy advocacy. Experience in conducting scoping reviews or research. Experience in conducting FGDs and consultations with different stakeholder groups.
