Job Purpose

Under the close supervision of the Communication Specialist, the incumbent will support in the planning, development, and implementation of a digital strategy, aligned with the Communication and Advocacy Strategy and priorities for promoting the rights of children and partnerships/fundraising objectives. The incumbent will also support digital engagement with adolescents and young people, helping amplify their voices and participation in UNICEF advocacy and programme priorities. This will ensure the expansion of the Papua New Guinea Country Office’s digital presence per the needs of the Country Programme (CP) and UNICEF´s global digital media guidelines. The role is crucial in enhancing UNICEF's communication efforts and reach within Papua New Guinea.

Responsibilities

Key roles and responsibilities include supporting the development and implementation of the digital strategy, assisting in the preparation of online campaigns, and managing country office backend portals and content. The incumbent will also provide support in monitoring and evaluation of communication activities and offer administrative assistance as needed. This involves contributing to the overall communication and advocacy efforts of the UNICEF Papua New Guinea Country Office, ensuring alignment with global guidelines and country-specific objectives. The role requires active participation in digital engagement initiatives and content management to effectively promote children's rights and UNICEF's mission.

Work Experience

At least 4 years of relevant work experience in maintaining digital communication, including social media, marketing and/or (youth) engagement, with social media tools and platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Flickr, YouTube, Vimeo, etc. is required.
