Job Purpose
The Procurement Associate plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless execution of UNICEF’s mission by providing timely, transparent, and value-driven procurement services. This position is fundamental to enabling both UNICEF’s vital fundraising efforts and its extensive operational activities across over 190 countries and territories. Through a comprehensive approach encompassing effective procurement planning, strategic sourcing, meticulous contracting, proactive stakeholder engagement, and diligent supplier management, the associate will significantly contribute to meeting diverse business needs. This role is instrumental in strengthening compliance with organizational policies and international public procurement processes, thereby supporting the efficient and impactful delivery of results for children worldwide. The associate's efforts directly contribute to UNICEF's commitment to defending children's rights and helping them fulfill their potential, ensuring resources are utilized effectively to achieve the greatest impact for every child.
Responsibilities
The Procurement Associate is responsible for a wide range of procurement activities, starting with the meticulous review and processing of all procurement requests to ensure full compliance and completeness. This role involves actively managing the entire sourcing lifecycle, including solicitation, thorough evaluation of bids, and subsequent contracting activities. The associate will serve as a key resource, providing essential procurement guidance and support to both internal clients and external vendors, fostering clear communication and adherence to procedures. Key duties also include contributing to strategic procurement planning, conducting vital market research, and developing effective sourcing strategies to optimize value. The preparation and administration of various contractual instruments, such as contracts, Long Term Agreements (LTAs), and purchase orders, are central to the role. Furthermore, the associate will diligently monitor supplier performance and ensure timely contract delivery, maintain comprehensive procurement records and documentation, and coordinate processes for the Contract Review Committee (CRC). Regular monitoring of procurement commitments and operational reporting are also crucial, alongside providing day-to-day administrative support for overall procurement operations.
Work Experience
At least 6 years of relevant work experience in Supply Management, procurement, supply chain management or related field, international procurement and any other related fields.

Application of UN Supply & Procurement policies, International public procurement processes and procedures, Managing international tenders, Interaction with UN/multilateral organizations and global vendors, End-to-end procurement of goods and services, Preparation of solicitation documents (RFQs, ITBs, RFPs), Bid evaluation processes, Contract preparation and supplier management, Experience with ERP/VISION for procurement transactions, Procurement documentation and governance processes (CRC), UN/UNICEF experience, Experience in development, fragile settings, and humanitarian contexts
