Job Purpose
UNICEF Iraq is seeking a qualified national consultant to support the collection and analysis of data through the Teenage Mothers Assessment in Iraq. The analysis will strengthen evidence-based programming and policy dialogue related to vulnerable adolescent mothers. The consultant will be responsible for conducting comprehensive quantitative and qualitative analysis of the collected assessment data, identifying key findings, trends, vulnerabilities, and service gaps affecting teenage mothers. This role is crucial for informing UNICEF's strategies and interventions to better support teenage mothers and their children in Iraq, ensuring that programming is data-driven and responsive to their specific needs and challenges.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive quantitative and qualitative analysis of the collected assessment data on teenage mothers in Iraq. Identify key findings, trends, vulnerabilities, and service gaps affecting this population. Develop analytical reports that clearly communicate complex findings to various stakeholders, including policymakers, program managers, and partners. Translate assessment findings into actionable recommendations for evidence-based programming and policy dialogue. Support the design or refinement of surveys and digital data collection tools, potentially including KoBo Toolbox or similar platforms. Facilitate discussions and present findings to government counterparts, NGOs, UNICEF, UN agencies, and other international organizations. Contribute to capacity-building activities for government counterparts or development partners on data collection, analysis, and evidence utilization. Ensure that all data analysis and reporting adhere to UNICEF's standards and ethical guidelines. Collaborate with relevant UNICEF sections and external partners to ensure the effective use of generated evidence. Prepare final reports and presentations summarizing the project's outcomes and recommendations.
Work Experience
At least 7 years of relevant professional experience in data analysis, research, assessments, social policy, or evidence generation related to vulnerable populations, adolescents, or social protection programmes. Previous working experience with government institutions, NGOs, UNICEF, UN agencies, or other international organizations would be an asset.
