Job Purpose

The Programme Officer will provide professional technical assistance and support for programme design, planning, implementation, management, and evaluation of project activities in Ecuador. This role contributes to strengthening territorial interventions and improving results for children and vulnerable communities through effective programme management and stakeholder engagement. The position is crucial for advancing children's rights by influencing decision-making processes in a complex political and social environment, ensuring evidence-based strategies and effective partnerships are leveraged to achieve programme goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

Key functions include managing programmes through a rights-based and results-based approach, ensuring the optimum use of program funds, and conducting thorough programme monitoring and evaluations. The role involves building national and local capacity for sustainability and promoting a rights perspective through advocacy at national, community, and family levels. Partnership, coordination, and collaboration with stakeholders are essential. The Programme Officer will also be responsible for the territorial monitoring of interventions and implementing partners, ensuring alignment with UNICEF's mission and objectives. This includes data analysis, progress reporting, and contributing to the development and management of programmes to achieve tangible results for children.

Work Experience

A minimum of one year of relevant professional work experience is required.
