Job Purpose
Under the close supervision and guidance of the People and Culture Specialist, the People and Culture Officer contributes to the effective implementation of human resources services by applying HR knowledge and best practices while ensuring compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and established guidelines. The role involves providing timely and high-quality HR support to clients and coordinating ongoing HR initiatives. The officer will contribute to maintaining seamless service delivery, supporting workforce needs, facilitating effective communication and coordination, and helping ensure that business objectives and employee needs are addressed in a responsive and consistent manner. This position is crucial for supporting the HR function within the Eastern and Southern Africa Region (ESAR) office in Ethiopia.
Responsibilities
The People and Culture Officer will be responsible for Business Partnering, acting as a liaison between HR and specific client groups to understand their needs and provide tailored HR solutions. They will contribute to Strategic Human Resources by supporting the development and implementation of HR strategies aligned with organizational goals. A key function is the Support to Implementation of assigned Human Resources Services, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures. The role also involves contributing to Learning and Capacity Development initiatives, identifying training needs and supporting staff development programs. Furthermore, the officer will be involved in HR Data Analytics, collecting, analyzing, and reporting on HR data to inform decision-making and identify trends. This includes managing HR records, ensuring data accuracy, and supporting the development of HR reports.
Work Experience
At least 1 year of relevant work experience in human resource management within an international organization is required.
