Job Purpose
The purpose of this consultancy is to generate evidence on the planning, financing, and procurement decisions related to vaccines and nutrition commodities. This involves conducting policy analysis on health systems and procurement systems, engaging with key informants and stakeholders, and analyzing and documenting recommendations. The consultant will contribute to a deeper understanding of how these critical commodities are managed within health systems, aiming to identify areas for improvement and inform future strategies. The ultimate goal is to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of health systems in delivering essential vaccines and nutrition supplies to children, thereby contributing to improved child health outcomes.
Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for evidence generation on the planning, financing, and procurement decisions for vaccines and nutrition commodities. This includes conducting comprehensive policy analysis of existing health and procurement systems. A key responsibility will be engaging with key informants and stakeholders to gather insights and perspectives. The consultant will analyze the collected data and information to identify trends, challenges, and best practices. Furthermore, the consultant will be responsible for documenting findings and formulating clear, actionable recommendations. This will involve developing research protocols, managing ethics submissions, and producing analytical reports. The consultant will also be expected to develop a technical proposal outlining their understanding of the assignment, proposed methodology, work plan, and relevant experience. Skills in stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and report writing are crucial for the successful execution of these responsibilities.
Work Experience
Minimum of 8 years of experience in healthcare financing. Experience in health systems strengthening and in conducting health systems research and policy analysis is also required.
