Job Purpose
The national consultant will provide technical assistance to support quality Early Childhood Development (ECD) programme implementation in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Indonesia. The primary purpose is to facilitate the integrated education and nutrition programme funded by the DBS Foundation, targeting children aged 4–12 years. This involves working closely with government partners, ECD centres, and primary schools to enhance nutrition education and services. The consultant will support teachers in effectively integrating nutrition topics into their learning activities and build the capacity of various stakeholders. A crucial aspect of the role is assisting district authorities in developing sustainable plans and budgets for the programme. Furthermore, the consultant will be responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and implementing programme activities under the direct supervision of the UNICEF Kupang Field Office, ensuring improved learning, nutrition, and wellbeing outcomes for children in the region.
Responsibilities
The ECD Consultant will be responsible for providing comprehensive technical assistance to ensure the high-quality implementation of the integrated education and nutrition programme in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). This includes actively supporting programme activities at both district and school levels, fostering strong collaboration with government partners, Early Childhood Development (ECD) centres, and primary schools. A key responsibility involves strengthening nutrition education and services within these institutions, ensuring that children aged 4-12 receive vital information and support. The consultant will also play a crucial role in empowering teachers by supporting them in effectively integrating nutrition topics into their daily learning activities and curriculum. Capacity building for various stakeholders will be a continuous effort. Furthermore, the consultant will assist district authorities in developing robust, sustainable plans and budgets to ensure the long-term viability and impact of the programme. Finally, the role encompasses supporting the overall coordination, meticulous monitoring, and efficient implementation of all programme activities, operating under the direct supervision of the UNICEF Kupang Field Office to achieve desired outcomes for children.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience is required in early childhood development, social development planning, and management within education or related fields. This experience should be gained at an international level and/or in a developing country context.
