Job Purpose
The Deputy Representative, Operations serves as a principal advisor to the Head of Office on all operational matters, organizational performance, and risk management. This role provides leadership to ensure that programme ambitions are aligned with operational capacity and resource sustainability. The incumbent fosters a culture of accountability, innovation, and service excellence within the operations function, enabling integrated decision-making across programme and operations to achieve results for children. The position is key to strengthening the office’s overall operational capacity and positioning it to meet its strategic objectives in a dynamic country context.
Responsibilities
The Deputy Representative, Operations leads by example and supports the Head of Office in managing the office, acting as Officer in Charge in their absence. They manage services across budget, financial management and reporting, facilities management, administration, supply and logistics, ICT, and safety and security. As a member of the Country and Senior Management Teams, they represent organizational risk, governance systems, and policies, promoting results-based management. They understand business needs, anticipate challenges, and propose creative solutions for value for money, contributing to CPD, CPMP, and AMP. They leverage technology for results, promote ICT management, information security, and controls, and support the office during audits. They guide Supply and Logistics strategies, oversee procurement, and advise partners on supply chain management. They provide feedback on operations risks and achievements, lead facility management with a focus on accessibility and sustainability, and oversee business transactions for efficiency, performance, risk management, and fraud prevention. They also support PSFR operations and oversee budgeting for BOS and CBO operations.
