Job Purpose
Under the guidance and general supervision of the Chief Education, the Education Specialist provides support on programme preparation, planning, and implementation, contributing to the achievement of sustainable results to improve learning outcomes and universal access to quality, equitable, and inclusive education. Success in education programmes and projects contributes to maintaining and enhancing UNICEF's credibility and ability to provide programme services for mothers and children, promoting greater social equality in the country. The role involves supporting programme development and planning, managing programmes, monitoring, and delivering results, providing technical and operational support to programme implementation, fostering networking and partnership building, and driving innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building.
Responsibilities
Support to programme development and planning, including conceptualizing and designing new education initiatives aligned with UNICEF's strategic goals and national priorities. Programme management, monitoring, and delivery of results, ensuring timely and effective implementation of education projects and activities, tracking progress against objectives, and managing budgets. Technical and operational support to programme implementation, providing expertise and guidance to national counterparts and partners on educational strategies and interventions. Networking and partnership building, fostering collaboration with government ministries, NGOs, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders to leverage resources and enhance programme impact. Innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building, identifying and promoting innovative approaches in education, documenting lessons learned, and building the capacity of national partners to ensure sustainability and scale-up of successful interventions.
Work Experience
At least 5 years of relevant work experience in Programme Management, Planning, research in education, Early Childhood Development, preschool education, or any other related fields is required.
