Job Purpose

The Finance Associate will support UNICEF's Private Fundraising and Partnerships (PFP) income growth through accurate and compliant financial management of private sector contributions. This role is crucial for ensuring effective fund allocation, maintaining donor confidence, and facilitating high-impact programme delivery. The position involves specialized finance processing, reconciliation, and quality assurance, with a focus on revenue, receivables, cash forecast, and settlement coordination. It also encompasses contribution management, grant processing, fund monitoring, and handling trust funds and other assigned finance workstreams. The role will contribute to systems and process improvements, provide knowledge support, and be involved in financial monitoring and closure activities, all aimed at strengthening UNICEF's financial operations and its ability to serve children globally.

Responsibilities

The Finance Associate will be responsible for specialized finance processing, reconciliation, and quality assurance of financial transactions related to private sector contributions. This includes managing revenue streams, accounts receivable, and coordinating cash forecasts and settlements. The role will also involve contribution management, grant processing, and diligent fund monitoring to ensure compliance and effective utilization. Furthermore, the associate will handle trust funds, special funds, and other assigned finance workstreams, contributing to the overall financial health of the PFP operations. A key aspect of the role will be to support systems and process improvements, provide knowledge support to colleagues, and conduct financial monitoring and closure activities. The associate will also be tasked with analyzing financial data, identifying discrepancies, following up on outstanding items, and supporting process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.

Work Experience

A minimum of six years of practical work experience in finance, accounting, financial administration, contribution management, grant management/administration, donor revenue management, accounts receivable, financial monitoring, or related financial operations is required.

Practical experience in processing or reviewing financial transactions (grants, contributions, donor revenue, remittances, fund allocations, reconciliations, financial reports, month-end/year-end closure), Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders, Analyzing financial data, Identifying discrepancies, Following up on outstanding items, Supporting process improvements, Experience with ERP or grant/contribution management systems (e.g., SAP/VISION, FRM, CORE/Salesforce), Experience with data reporting and analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI), Experience in donor/private sector funding flows, Experience in international organizations and/or UN agencies
