Job Purpose
The intern will gain practical experience within the UNICEF Public Partnerships and Resource Mobilization Division (PPR) Asia-Pacific Pillar Office in Tokyo. This role supports the office's efforts in quality assurance, analysis, research, communication, and administrative tasks related to resource mobilization with the Government of Japan. Under the guidance of the Public Partnership Manager, the intern will contribute to strengthening UNICEF's partnerships with public actors and enhancing its position as a partner of choice for children's rights.
Responsibilities
The intern will support the review and analysis of donor proposals and reports from UNICEF Country Offices. They will conduct analyses of Japan’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) for children. Responsibilities include supporting translation, report writing, and preparing Japan-related documents and presentation materials. The intern will also assist in enhancing donor visibility by translating press releases, videos, and human-interest stories, and producing other visibility content for communication platforms. Additionally, they will support UNICEF’s advocacy messages by gathering and organizing information for key counterparts and media, update the Tokyo office’s website, and provide logistical and administrative support for advocacy events, consultations, and workshops. Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor will also be undertaken.
Work Experience
Experience and/or knowledge in international cooperation, humanitarian and development assistance, and human security are desirable. Working experience in project formulation/report writing is desirable. Experience translating communication materials is highly desirable. Experience in public relations and/or event management is an asset. Experience in website management and video editing is an asset.
