Job Purpose
The internship aims to provide young Nigerien graduates with structured practical experience in administrative and financial operations within UNICEF Niger. The intern will support the Administration and Finance unit by assisting with the tracking of operational activities, processing and archiving administrative and financial files, and contributing to logistical support for missions, meetings, and events. This role is designed to enhance the intern's professional skills, provide exposure to an international organization's functioning, and contribute to UNICEF's mission of supporting children's rights and development. It also helps UNICEF Niger build a pool of young professionals familiar with its values, procedures, and standards, thereby strengthening its commitment to youth inclusion and national human capital development.
Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Admin & Finance Associate, the Intern will contribute to monitoring the operational activities of the Administration and Finance unit, ensuring the processing and archiving of administrative and financial files. Key responsibilities include supporting the administrative organization of the office and file tracking, physically and electronically classifying documents, assisting in the preparation of administrative correspondence, and participating in the logistical support for missions, meetings, and events. The intern will also contribute to the preparation of administrative and financial reports and execute any other tasks assigned by the supervisor within the scope of the internship objectives. This role is crucial for maintaining efficient office operations and supporting the unit's objectives, offering the intern valuable hands-on experience in a dynamic international environment.
Work Experience
No specific prior work experience is required, but a strong understanding of IT tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet) is essential. The internship itself provides the primary work experience opportunity.
