Job Purpose
The UNICEF Niger Young Internship Programme aims to support the employability of young Nigerien graduates by providing structured professional experience. This initiative will identify, train, and mentor young talents in various intervention areas, while addressing the operational needs of sections. Recent recruitment experiences have highlighted the necessity for UNICEF Niger to develop a pool of young professionals familiar with the organization's values, procedures, and standards. Through this program, interns will gain 6 months of practical and enriching experience, benefiting from structured supervision, exposure to the functioning of an international organization, and the development of professional skills. It will also enable UNICEF Niger to strengthen its commitment to youth inclusion, knowledge transfer, and national human capital development.
Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Chief Social Behavior Change, the intern will provide support in gender-sensitive programming, contributing to the strengthening of integration and communication on transformative gender results in the organization's projects and activities. The intern will support the development and implementation of gender-related activities, assist in data collection and analysis for gender-focused projects, contribute to the preparation of reports and communication materials on gender equality, participate in meetings and workshops related to gender programming, and provide general administrative support to the Social and Behavior Change section as needed. This role involves actively engaging with project teams to ensure gender considerations are mainstreamed across all relevant UNICEF initiatives in Niger.
Work Experience
No prior work experience is required, but an internship or volunteer experience in a related field is an asset.
